Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Video: Ferrari 599XX EVO Tears Up Monza - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

Ferrari 599XX EVO 1 at Video: Ferrari 599XX EVO Tears Up Monza

Ferrari 599XX, as you may know, is a racing car that you buy from the company but they will never let you take it home with you. What they do is organize races under the Corse Clienti program, and bring the car and all the other bits and pieces it needs to the track, so you can just show up and have a damn good time.

You want to know what exactly that means, you check out the video after the jump.

Ferrari 599XX EVO 2 at Video: Ferrari 599XX EVO Tears Up Monza

Well, screaming down the track, chasing other rich fellas 599XX and FXX cars, and making an awful lot of noise. That is about it for Corse Clienti. We’d pay 2 million euro for that, easy.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - LaFerrari’s Bloodline: Enzo, F40, F50 & 288 GTO at Top Gear Track - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

laferrari bloodline 600x337 at LaFerraris Bloodline: Enzo, F40, F50 & 288 GTO at Top Gear Track

To complement their LaFerrari story, Top Gear Magazine assembled a lineup of Ferrari’s most recent hyper cars at their track at Dunsfold. The cars brought in for this piece were the Enzo, the F40, the F50 and the 288 GTO. Words cannot describe the level of awesomeness that ensued.

These cars comprise LaFerrari’s Bloodline. In their day, they were the best Ferrari could do; the ultimate expression of what a Ferrari can be. And they all made a lot of noise in the auto world, just as LaFerrari is doing these days.

If we have to pick a favorite, it has to be the F40. The Enzo is fantastic and the 288 GTO is, well, a GTO. But the F40 is one of the most remarkable cars in the history and, arguably, the world’s first true hyper car. We’re not sure about the F50 though. It just wasn’t good enough to be as a successor to the F40. What’s your favorite?

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio 2015: Highlights - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio 600x330 at Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio 2015: Highlights

There are many good things about being a Ferrari owner, but if we were to pick one reason that’d definitely be the driving tours you get to be part of if you own a Prancing Horse. And among those driving tours, the Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio is the one we are most enchanted by.

Looking at the scenery and the driving roads in this trailer from Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio 2015, you will understand why we are willing to sell our left leg just so we can be part of it… just once!

This year, the Targa Florio rally, which re-stages Sicily’s most famous race exclusively for the Ferrari owners, saw more than 50 Ferraris participating, ranging from the Dinos of the 1970s to the 488 GTB. The event includes road tripping across some of Italy’s most scenic roads, track driving sessions, and fine dining at luxury restaurants and hotels along the way. It is the very definition of good living.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - This Is How Formula One Brakes Are Tested - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

This Is How Formula One Brakes Are Tested

When most people who’ve been blessed enough to drive Formula One carsget out of their first ride, the immediate thing they note is the massive power of the carbon brakes. In the middle of a race, F1 drivers can expect to experience up to 5G under braking. This is how Brembo tests those brakes.

Since these brakes are expected to stop a car weighing over 1,500 pounds from speeds over 200 MPH, repeatedly, for nearly a full day, without failing, they’ve got to undergo some pretty rigorous testing. That includes spinning them up to incredible speeds, and then repeatedly clamping down on them until they glow red hot, at temperatures over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Watch Pagani Test Hardcore Huayra And Its Ginormous Wing - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

pagani-huayra-video-02

Pagani has been relatively quiet for the last year or so. When the Huayra hit the market in 2012, it was a marvel in both engineering and design. Even more so than the already bonkers Zonda that it was replacing.
But as the Huayra grows older, so does its measly (sarcasm intended) 700-horsepower engine. That’s why Pagani is planning an even more hardcore performance version. It will be built specifically to tackle lap times and scare small children.

Pagani-huayra-video

Only 20 versions of the car you see here will be built. Adding to its exclusivity, only current Pagani owners will be able to purchase it—similar to the purchase procedure model of the McLaren P1 GTR and LaFerrari FXX K.

We don’t know much about it, other than it will have a massive wing fixed to the back. Some rumors are floating around of a hybrid version and upwards of 800 horsepower. We won’t know anything for sure until it makes it debut. For now, watch it take on San Martino del Lago race track in all its camouflaged glory.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Autos $30 Million Aston Martin DBR1 Wrecked While Racing - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

aston-martin-dbr1-8

What would you do if you damaged an Aston Martin worth over $30 million? Not only that, but it’s only one of five ever produced and finished second at Le Mans in 1959 with Carroll Shelby behind the wheel.
Personally, we’d probably run away and hide in some far away land where no car enthusiast or the owner could ever find us. Thankfully, no one brought out any pitchforks after an Aston Martin DBR1 crashed during a vintage race in the U.K.

Aston-Martin-Rear

While racing against other classics, an Austin Healey and a Jaguar XK smashed into the priceless Aston Martin DBR1 during the race. No one is exactly sure what happened, but from the damage, the DBR1 definitely received the brunt of it.

This DBR1 started its life as a DBR3, but after the original engine was found to be un-competitive, Aston Martin converted the car into DBR1 spec. Additionally, other outlets have stated that this was the car that Sir Stirling Moss won the 1000km of Nurburgring in 1958, but according to MotorAuthority, that car’s chassis was chassis code DBR1/3, while this car’s chassis code is DBR1/4.

Aston Martin Crash

According to John Moon, the media relations officer for the track, “Whilst the accident to the Aston was very unfortunate, to say the least, the fact owners like Adrian Beecroft (the man that owns the Aston Martin) are brave enough to race their famous and almost priceless cars and provide us with such entertainment, is wonderful. The Aston was built to race and it would be just as much of a tragedy if it was locked away in a museum.”

Mercifully, when you have this caliber of car, that’s worth so many millions of dollars, the exceptionally wealthy party who owns the vehicle is destined to return her to her former glory. However, we’re sure that the owner of the Aston Martin might be a bit more hesitant on the track after it’s mended.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - P1 VS. LAFERRARI VS. 918 SPYDER HOT LAPS: PART 1 - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

p1-918-laferrari-track

First was the P1. Next, LaFerrari. Third was the 918.

The driver was the same, they all went on the same day, they circled the same track, but only one could finish fastest.

We found out this video was coming on Oct. 1, when it was announced that TheSupercarDriver had again teamed up with Paul Bailey with the intention of independently testing the three greatest supercars of 2014 against each other. You may remember Bailey from earlier this year, when he took his McLaren P1 to pick up both his new Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari on the same day.

And now the “holy trinity” of supercars has had their first test of performance made available to the public. The three spent Sept. 18 at the UK’s Silverstone National circuit, with Mat Jackson, a driver in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) behind the wheel of each to see which could make it around the track fastest.

The winning time rang in at 58.24 seconds. Second fastest was 58.47, and last was 58.58. All were within less than a half second of each other, but which one completed which time? Check out the video to see, and stay tuned for the second video, which test the three to see which finishes a quarter mile fastest.
In the meantime, find yourself a Porsche, McLaren or Ferrari from our exclusive listings below.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - EXTREME SHOOTING AND DONUTS IN A FERRARI 599 SA APERTA - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

599-sa-aperta-shooting

When trap or skeet shooting at a shooting range, your feet are placed on the ground and your body stationary. Why? Because it’s terribly hard and dangerous to shoot clay pigeons if you’re, say, doing donuts in a Ferrari 599 SA Aperta.

Of course, this means someone on the internet has gone out, hopped in one of Ferrari’s most exclusive models ever created and actually shot clay pigeons from a 599 SA Aperta while doing donuts.
The person behind the gun? Philip Thorrold – one of the world’s top shooters and a professional shooting coach. He clearly has experience in the matter.

In the video found below, uploaded Oct. 6, we see Thorrold sitting passenger in a 599 SA Aperta, shooting at clay pigeons being launched into the air. He is, of course, a professional and this stunt looks to be performed in a controlled environment. What I’m saying is don’t try this at home.

This exclusive Ferrari model was revealed back at the 2010 Paris Motor Show as the convertible version of the 6.0-liter V12-powered 599. Before it even hit showroom floors, the car was already sold out. It generated quite a bit of buzz back in 2010 and there were many factors that contributed to its rise.
First of all, Ferrari only created 80 examples of the car, making it more exclusive than almost any other model they’ve created. In fact, this makes the 599 SA Aperta even more exclusive than the LaFerrari, which Ferrari created 499 examples of. Secondly, this model was created to celebrate designers Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, hence the “SA” in the model’s name.

Now, the 599 SA Aperta is surging in popularity. For instance, Bonhams is rolling one exampleacross the auction block at their October 9 Knokke-Heist event and it’s expected to go for anywhere between $900,000 to $1.3 million.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - 4 FXX KS AT NEW ORLEANS’ MOTORSPORT PARK FERRARI RACING DAYS - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

fxx-k-nola

The big band city of New Orleans saw an Italian takeover at the NOLA Motorsports park the weekend of Oct. 4, and it was a show of incredible power.

Ferrari Racing Days saw the arrival of three Ferrari programs at once at the southern location, with the North American Ferrari Challenge, XX Program and F1 Clienti all converging for two days of horsepower and energy. An Oct. 4 press release from the marque and videos shared to YouTube Oct. 7 give us a look inside the event, including an in-cabin perspective for one lap around the track.

The Ferrari FXX K debuted on American soil for the first time at this event, with not just one, but four examples of the LaFerrari’s racing variant arriving for the trip. As the release reminds us, its engine creates 860 hp while the hybrid system creates an additional 190, leading to an insane 1,050 hp total from the FXX K.
“With nearly four hours of track time at NOLA,” the release described, “the Tifosi were enthralled by the roar it made. In addition, the FXX Ks were joined by two 599XXs on the 2.74-mile circuit.”
Check out the videos above and below to get a better look at this event, and find your own Ferrari from our exclusive listings for the next Ferrari track day near you.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Ferrari Built A 2.0 Liter Flat 12 Engine And It Sounds Unreal - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

This is the one-of-one Ferrari 212E, a hillclimb special that cleaned up its 1969 championship. Under the rear lid is a flat 12 engine displacing just two liters. Just listen to it.

Here’s the car at the Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb back in 2003. You can see its minute engine right here.

Gaze In Awe At This 2.0 Liter 12-Cylinder Ferrari Engine

The old adage is that real Ferraris come with big 12-cylinder motrs and the poseurs' models have little engines. Well, what about a Ferrari with a little 12?

This is the engine to the Ferrari 212 E Montagna. By 'the engine' I do mean the engine. This was a one-off design using what was basically an expanded version of Ferrari's mid '60s 1.5 liter V12 used in Formula One.

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Spend Three Minutes Listening To A Ferrari F40 At Speed - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

Spend Three Minutes Listening To A Ferrari F40 At Speed

Although Ferrari went back to twin-turbocharged V8s with the California T and this year’s 488 GTB, the 3.85 and 3.9-liter Tipo 154BB/CB engines with their sophisticated Japanese turbos can hardly produce the sort ofraw power noise Iggy Pop was on about in 1973.

The F40’s Tipo F120A might be a laggy old relic compared to a modern turbo engine when you look at it from an Excel table, but it packed almost as much horsepower in 1987 as a Ferrari 430 two decades later.

That 2.9-liter V8 fed by a pair of IHI turbos providing 16 psi of boost sounds like this:

Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - Ferrari driver filmed doing burnouts on busy Sydney motorway - FZ Restoration Livermore- 925-294-5666

An unidentified driver has been caught on dashcam testing the limits of their Ferrari, performing donuts and burnouts in the middle of a busy Sydney street.

It narrowly missed other vehicles that sped past in the outer lane, and spewed smoke across the motorway.
Cars in the blocked lanes were forced to brake suddenly when the Ferrari turned unexpectedly.
