To complement their LaFerrari story, Top Gear Magazine
assembled a lineup of Ferrari’s most recent hyper cars at their track at
Dunsfold. The cars brought in for this piece were the Enzo, the F40, the F50
and the 288 GTO. Words cannot describe the level of awesomeness that ensued.
These cars comprise LaFerrari’s Bloodline. In their day,
they were the best Ferrari could do; the ultimate expression of what a Ferrari
can be. And they all made a lot of noise in the auto world, just as LaFerrari
is doing these days.
If we have to pick a favorite, it has to be the F40. The
Enzo is fantastic and the 288 GTO is, well, a GTO. But the F40 is one of the
most remarkable cars in the history and, arguably, the world’s first true hyper
car. We’re not sure about the F50 though. It just wasn’t good enough to be as a
successor to the F40. What’s your favorite?
