It’s hard to believe that the Bugatti Veyron is now a decade
old. When the car first hit the scene, its 987-horsepower rating (1,001 hp in
metric figures) seemed out of this world for a production car, but now that
kind of power is standard when you’re talking top-level supercars.
This video from YouTube channel TheSupercarDriver shows
just how outmatched the original Veyron is when it comes to the latest
supercars, such
as the LaFerrari. Both cars have similar power ratings (the Ferrari is
rated at 950 hp), and their own advantage and disadvantages.
The Veyron has the added traction of an all-wheel-drive system
but weighs more than 4,000 pounds. The LaFerrari spins the rear wheels only but
weighs less than 3,000 lbs.
In the video, the two cars line up for a quarter-mile race.
The footage isn’t the best and there’s no quoted time for either car, but it’s
clear the LaFerrari creates a gap of several car lengths during the run. Now,
if this was a top speed run…
Below is a second video from YouTubeuser F3Matthew showing
the view from inside the LaFerrari.
