Vintage and Exotic Car Restoration Livermore - See What It’s Like to Drive a 900HP Pro4 Truck - FZ Restoration - 925-294-5666

Last weekend we hit the alpine slopes of Maine’s Sunday River Ski Resort, but not to carve some fresh powder. Rather, we came for the trucks – 900 horsepower Pro4 off-road trucks – not exactly your average day at the ski hill.

The display of horsepower and wheel-travel was part of the second annual Red Bull Frozen Rush, and it was quite the experience. Driver Bryce Menzies came away with the overall victory, we got taken for a spin in a 700 horsepower Pro2 truck (not for the faint of heart), and the off-road brutes set about turning snow back into its cloud form. Take a look.

A few specs? These four-wheel-drive beasts, which live for warmer desert and short-course racing, weigh in at around 4,000 pounds, feature 20 inches of suspension travel, and can accelerate off-road quicker than some supercars can on-road. Not too shabby.

From the viewing area, you get the idea that these trucks aren’t exactly easy to drive. From this point-of-view footage, that notion is amplified. Thick clouds of snow are thrown up from the studded tires, rutted tracks make handling unpredictable, and as we saw – the slightest error could send you sliding off-track, into your competitor, or into the barriers.

If you happen to own a ski slope and a $250,000 off-road racing truck – by all means – try this at home.
