Spontaneous combustion is something that Italian supercars have been trying to handle for quite a few years now but in between car companies not offering any details on why incidents like these continue to happen and photos of them burning to the ground, we have a lot to talk about, especially over a beer. The newest incident in which flames have eaten a Ferrari is coming from just outside of Las Vegas and it is starring a 360 Spider.

According to the local media, the owner of the ride was driving it from Vegas, home to Utah, with a friend. On the Interstate 15, outside Las Vegas, the driver noticed smoke coming out of the engine compartment. He immediately pulled over but flames started devouring his “baby”. He had nothing to do than stand there and watch his Ferrari go up in flames. Happily no one was hurt in the incident and judging by the reaction of the owner, in the image posted above, insurance will probably not cover it.

Ferrari has produced the 360 between 1999 and 2005 in two body styles, Coupe, the 360 Modena, and Roadster, the 360 Spider. Both of them had a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout and they packed a 3.6 liter V8 unit, with 400 HP (300 kW) and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) of torque. The supercar could reach 100 km/h in just over 4 seconds and top speed stood at 304 km/h (189 mph).
